Osaka Kaiyukan Aquarium
** edit ** was the largest during the time it was built. But no longer is now.

A good place for a half day of fun. With or without kids, this aquarium is fascinating. It's so therapeutic just watching these majestic creatures swim around the centre aquarium which is called the Pacific Ocean.

It is easy to get to. Just a simple 10 min walk from the Osaka train station.
Opening hours defer according to seasons. 1030am-7pm. Do check on their website to be sure.

Tickets for adults costs 2400 yen
children below 6 costs 600 yen
children 7-15 costs 1200 yen

I am currently in Japan for a few weeks. The entry process in late October is as follows. Please note that starting 14th November, mySOS is no longer required to enter Japan.

I flew in on SQ flight and arrived into Kansai airport at 9pm. Remember to download mysos app and follow the instructions there to upload your passport details and also vaccination details. If you are flying with your child, do enter their details in the dependent section. Children under the age of 18 do not need to be fully vaccinated as long as they are travelling with a parent who is fully vaccinated (3 doses).

On the day of arrival, we were ushered along and got our phones open to the app with the blue screen. It took only minutes and we were through immigration. We managed to get out of the terminal with our bags within 30 mins. It was a very smooth process at KIX airport. We even made the train to Namba.
