Security personnel from all corners of the country have been deployed in poll-bound Tripura amid the Election Commission's bids to conduct a violence-free election in the state.
At the same time, poll officials are putting the finishing touches on their preparations to conduct the democratic process across all 60 Assembly constituencies. Talking to the media on the eve of election day, the state's Chief Electoral Officer confirmed that security has been beefed up amid concerns about violence. Kiran Gitte, the Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura, said: "For one-and-a-half months, paramilitary forces, state police, and TSR are working in tandem to maintain peace in Tripura. It has taken us 1.5 months to usher in peace. It is not possible to do so in a day. We have seen violent incidents in the past. This time, we have been able to decrease violence by 30%. Our target is zero. We will bring it down to zero." #EastMojo #EastStory #NorthEastIndia ***** Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3zMA8hCzeB8ldnFVGX1NFA?sub_confirmation=1 ***** Visit our website: https://www.eastmojo.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/eastmojo/ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/eastmojo Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/east.mojo ***** |
