In This Video We Are Discussing About Aligning to the release schedule, the Ubuntu team announced the release of the Ubuntu 21.04 Beta code-named ‘Hirsute Hippo’. The beta images are immediately available for download and test.

Ubuntu 21.04 is a short-term release. Hence the changes, major features are less. Mostly the Kernel updates, application updated versions, and core package upgrades are expected from the changelog. When we last wrote about the feature list of Ubuntu 21.04 here, we mostly guessed some of the items right.

Ubuntu MATE is a desktop Linux distribution which aims to bring the simplicity and elegance of the Ubuntu operating system through a classic, traditional desktop environment - the MATE desktop. MATE is the continuation of the GNOME 2 desktop environment which was used as Ubuntu's default desktop until 10.10 (when it was replaced by Unity). The project began its life as an Ubuntu "remix", but starting with version 15.04, it was formally accepted as an official member of the Ubuntu family of Linux distributions.

Ubuntu Mate 21.04 Beta Available to Download, Ubuntu is a complete testing desktop Linux operating system, freely available with both community and professional support. The Ubuntu community is built on the ideas enshrined in the Ubuntu Manifesto: that software should be available free of charge, that software tools should be usable by people in their local language and despite any disabilities, and that people should have the freedom to customise and alter their software in whatever way they see fit. “Ubuntu” is an ancient African word, meaning “humanity to others”. The Ubuntu distribution brings the spirit of Ubuntu to the software world.

A new development release of Ubuntu mate and its community editions are out. The new version is Ubuntu 21.04 mate beta. “The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the beta release of the Ubuntu 21.04 Desktop, Server and Cloud products. 21.04, codenamed ‘Hirsute Hippo’, continues Ubuntu’s proud tradition of integrating the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high-quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. The team has been hard at work through this cycle, introducing new features and fixing bugs. This beta release includes images from not only the Ubuntu Desktop, Server and Cloud products, but also Ubuntu Gnome, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu Studio and Xubuntu flavours.” Further information can be found in the project’s release announcement and in the release notes.
