Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao December 6, 2008 720p 60FPS HD HBO Video/Sky Sports Commentary |

There are quite a few decent looking versions of the HBO broadcast, the best of them are from an HBO replay of the fight and a small handful of them are in 60FPS already. What there was not was a good looking version of the Sky broadcast, commentated by one a my fave commentators, Ian Darke with Jim Watt on sidekick duty. Hope some choose to enjoy the fight if they choose to watch. I am also intending to create a version of the HBO airing that has the pre and post fight segments with this higher quality 60FPS replay in the middle.
Mario What a fuยขking debacle. Merchant kinda played De La Hoya here. Pitching and asking for this fight, publicly thinking the fight was intriguing and would be competitive and could Manny pull this task off etc etc, and yet apparently, in the background, certain that Oscar would be blown the fuck outta the water Weights: De La Hoya 145 lbs, Pacquiao 142 lbs Aired on: HBO Pay-Per-View Promoters: Golden Boy Promotions & Top Rank Announcer: Michael Buffer Bout Summary TheDreammatchLow.jpg The quicker Pacquiao got off to a strong start, connecting with clean straight left leads and continually beat De La Hoya to the punch. Oscar got on track a bit in round five landing one good flurry, but Pacquiao regained command in the sixth round and mercilessly battered De La Hoya on the ropes in the seventh round. De La Hoya's left eye was swelling shut. It was again all Pacquiao in round eight and De La Hoya's corner stopped the fight after the eighth round. Comments The fight generated 1.25 million Pay-Per-View buys and $70 million in pay-per-view revenue. It is the fourth time in boxing Pay-Per-View history that a non-heavyweight event has attained the one million buy mark. De la Hoya announced his retirement after this bout and declared his attention would only be on promoting. Purses: Pacquiao - $11 million plus |
