The Problem: An alpha male wants the leadership position but no matter how many times I tried...leadership didn't attract me. Therefore, I realized early on that was not, in fact, an alpha. Was I, then, a Beta male?
One of my life's many frustrations in the past was trying to fit the mold of the Alpha male, especially back in the day when the term, "sigma male" did not yet exist. Among the key alpha male traits, leadership was a big weakness for me. I was effective as a leader, but my nature eventually screwed things over during the leadership process - as deep down, I didn't liked to be bound to any social structure. As you can imagine, it was a real comfort and encouragement knowing that a new classification of male came up for those of us who were "alpha-like" but preferred to use our innate gifts for our own ends.
