2.0 is an upcoming 2017 Indian science fiction film written and directed by S. Shankar, co-written by B. Jeyamohan and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, founder of London-based Lyca Productions.[6] A spiritual successor to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran , the film will feature Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.[7] The soundtrack album will be composed by A. R. Rahman while cinematography, editing and production design are handled by Nirav Shah, Anthony and T. Muthuraj respectively. The film will be released in three langauges- Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. The much-awaited sequel of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Robot 2.0 is finally nearing completion with the shooting schedule of the film wrapped, tweeted film’s lead heroine Amy Jackson. The film is slated for release in early 2017.


Under Shankar’s direction, the Tamil sci-fi 2.0 is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robo in Telugu). The film also stars Akshay Kumar as the antagonist, apart from Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey. Reportedly being made on a lavish budget of Rs 350 crore, the film will be simultaneously released in Telugu and Hindi as well. Akshay was roped for playing the baddie after Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger could not be brought on board due to various reasons.
Superstar Rajinikanth who has been on a long break from shoot made his comeback to the sets of his upcoming movie Robo 2.0 which happened to be the sequel of his super hit film Robo. Talented director Shankar is directing the movie which is said to be the costliest ever film made in the history of South India. The movie is said to have a huge dose of VFX effects and the principle shoot of the film is expected to be wrapped up by the end of this year. As per the latest news, the climax of the film has been wrapped up completely and the major action episodes of the film have been rolled. The rest of the talkie part and the other songs will be shot in the coming couple of months. Being made on a budget of Rs 350 crores, Robo 2.0 is being produced by Lyca Productions. Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar is the major antagonist in the film and Amy Jackson is the female lead. AR Rahman is the music composer and the first look of the movie will be unveiled in November. Robo 2.0 will hit the screens during the second half of 2017.

Like the budget of Shankar’s film, which is more than Rs 350 crore, the event has also been planned on a grand scale. The who’s who of Indian film industry will congregate in Mumbai on Sunday as the makers will unveil the first look of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar from the big-ticket sci-fi movie
On Wednesday evening, the Thalaivar took the internet by storm by tweeting the first poster of the Enthiran sequel. We should understand one thing, there was no such thing as a ‘first look launch event’ until a few years ago in Indian film industry. The advent of social media and its popularity paved way for releasing the first look posters to create curiosity among the audience as a marketing strategy. Even makers of Baahubali 2, another expensive film from India, smartly selected the Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival to release the first look of Prabhas from the film. But, none of the filmmakers have held an event on such a grand scale as 2.0’s. The teaser poster has only heightened the curiosity of the fans about the upcoming film event even as they mostly are perplexed about what to expect from the 2.0 first look launch. And Bollywood’s Khiladi perfectly summed up the state of mind of the fans worldwide in a tweet. “What awaits, no one knows!! Sit tight…just 4 days to go. Experience the #2Point0FirstLook on 20th Nov. at 5 pm (sic) Are you ready?” What we can assure is it will be a great event.
