|
This Tedx Talk focuses on the development of the international movement of war against drugs.
Marina Jimenez, a UTS alumna, launched her journalism career in 1990 after completing a Masters in economic history at the University of London. Over the past 24 years, she has worked for a variety of media sources, and recently served as a member of the editorial board for the Globe and Mail. She also taught at the University of Toronto’s School of Media Studies from 2008-2012, and rounds out her impressive résumé with her current Presidency of the Canadian Council for the Americas, an organization that promotes discussion of Canadian foreign policy. Uniting all of her many pursuits is an ardent commitment to foreign affairs and international development, especially with respect to Latin America. She has won a National Newspaper Award in beat reporting, two National Magazine Awards and, in 2011, was named one of Canada’s top 10 most influential Hispanic-Canadians. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
