Iran begins funeral rites for President Ebrahim Raisi after crash | BBC News

Funeral rites for Iran's president and seven others who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday have begun.

Thousands of people have taken to the streets to mourn President Raisi.

The first ceremony is taking place in Tabriz in the country's north-west, the region where the crash happened.

But not everyone supported him - and many Iranians celebrated his death on social media.
