When we look back at the all time greats like LeBron, Kobe, Steph, Dirk and Giannis. They all had moments where they had meltdowns and had times of failure. There were narratives being told about their legacies and they had something to prove to everyone and they found the will to win on their own terms and each of them had their defining moment for their careers on the biggest stage that will forever be viewed in a positive way and that is what made them legends. But for KD, he has had amazing moments on the biggest stage but he has never had his defining moment for his career. His legacy will be viewed differently to many as someone who joined the greatest regular season team of all time after losing to them in a winnable series. A player who won titles but they were never viewed as “real championships”. Someone who left a team that was able to win before and after his departure and a player who failed to win without a superteam. So while Durant is a 2x Champion, he paid the ultimate price that would leave his legacy when it is all said and done…Fractured.
