Prior to this film, Kishore Kumar had tried his hand at composing music for two Phani Majumdar films, "Neela Aasman" and "Suhana Geet". These films were however shelved and he had to wait till 1961 to debut as a composer. Song Ae Bhola Bhaala Mann Mera - Kishore Kumar's opening yodeling in this song is very similar to the one in the title song of the movie. Ae Baba Lu Baba Lu Ba Ba (Jaane De Jaane De) - This song was an adaptation of the #1 song on the pop charts of 1958 - the intrumental track "Tequila" performed by The Champs. Two other Hindi film songs have been inspired by this tune - the first line of "Mere Sapno Ki Rani" ("Aradhana", 1969) and "Aa Pappiyan Jhappiyan Paa Len Hum" ("Haqeeqat", 1995). Koi Humdum Na Raha - This song is a direct lift, both musically and lyrically, of a song composed by Saraswati Devi, written by Jamuna Swarup Kashyap and sung by Kishore Kumar's elder brother Ashok Kumar for the 1936 movie, "Jeevan Naiya". Koi Albela Mastana - Kishore Kumar had composed this duet for this 1961 film but the song was not included in it. |
