Steph Curry - Fantastic Finisher 16/17 Part 1

video thumbnail
Wardell Stephen Curry. 2x NBA Champion. 2x NBA Most Valuable Player. 4x NBA All-Star. 2x All-NBA First Team. 2x All-NBA Second Team. 2016 scoring champion. 50-40-90 club member. 2x USA Basketball Gold medalist (2010 & 2014 World Championships). Holds the NBA record for most 3 pointers in a single game. Steph finished 10th in the league in scoring (ahead of Kyrie Irving, Karl-Anthony Towns, Kevin Durant, Jimmy Butler, and Paul George) while “sacrificing” to help integrate a fellow former MVP and scoring champ to his team.

What’s funny about Curry is that most people seem to pigeonhole him as a guy who just shoots threes STILL. After the greatest 3 season stretch by any team in the history of the entire league, he’s still not recognized as being one of the craftiest finishers around the basket. He’s got the floater game, his ambidexterity and ability to finish off of the off-foot immediately call to mind memories of Steve Nash, his jumper is so dangerous that a single hesitation move unlocks more action that has his defender falling down a rabbit hole, unable to crawl back out, and he’s willing to actually take contact. He’s much stronger than he looks, he’s more balanced than his wild, whirling forays to the rim make it seem, and it’s about time people start recognizing that.

Steph Curry is also a member of one of the most exclusive clubs in NBA history. Steph joins Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Tim Duncan, and LeBron James as the ONLY players to have ever won 2 Most Valuable Player awards and multiple titles. That’s pretty crazy. Let that sink in.
