The 3.0 version of Chitti in Shankar directorial 3.O, starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in lead roles, is winning hearts all over.
Shankar has gone on record to say that he is willing to start a robot franchise and would love to direct a 3.0 sequel. He has set the stage with the introduction of 3.0. Whether the sequel takes off or not, it is certain that 3.0 is here to stay.

Robot 3.0 will be a Sequel to the S Shankar's Robot 2. It will be a Sci-fi Movie Revolves around the World of Robots and Humankind Relation.

Robot is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language science fiction action film written and directed by S. Shankar. It is the first instalment in the Enthiran franchise. The film stars Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan; Danny Denzongpa, Santhanam and Karunas play supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman while the dialogues, cinematography, editing and art direction were handled by Madhan Karky, R. Rathnavelu, Anthony and Sabu Cyril respectively.

The story revolves around the struggle of a scientist K. Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth) to control his humanoid robot named Chitti (also Rajinikanth), after Chitti's software is upgraded to give it the ability to comprehend and exhibit human emotions. The project backfires when Chitti falls in love with Vaseegaran's girlfriend, Sana (Rai), and is manipulated by Bohra (Denzongpa), a rival scientist, into becoming homicidal.

When mobiles start flying from people's hands, Dr Vaseegaran and his robot Nila are asked to help. However, due to Pakshi Rajan having a hand in this, the two have to reinstate Chitti to defeat him.

At the trailer launch of 2.0, director Shankar revealed that he will come up with 3.0 if he is able to write a suitable script.

However, the 3.0 version of Chitti, the robot, is catching the eyes of the audience. These tiny Thalaivar microbots are winning hearts all over, The Indian Express reported.
