JKD Straight Lead. It’s a combination of Wing Chun, Boxing and Fencing.

Vertical fist that punching out from the center and travels directly lining up behind the body with elbow down to also trap an arm. Blading and rotating waist for more power with a half step forward or a slight outside angle like in boxing. Full extension when needed to complete the movement by extending forward and pivoting rear foot like a fencing lunge.

It’s delivered with hand first and foot moving just after. Punch should reach target at the earliest point just before the lead step lands on the ground or at the same time as it does. At the point of impact full body weight it driven in with forward stepping momentum and body waist power with centerline alignment.

Retraction is slightly elliptical as if trying to catch or grab something out of the air. This helps recycle the speed for faster pull back or for a second punch. Possibly batting away the opponents arm in the process. It also makes it follow through more like a long range lead hook punch and harder to dodge because it covers a bit more area than just a straight in and out punch.
