Standing sucked for a long time after this. Join me as we pull this G4 eMac apart and clean it up. I don't plan on using this computer much as it is so heavy (thanks Apple), so no SSD this time! Sadface. Right?

Not a word of a lie, this eMac ushered in a year of pain for me, quite literally. This heavy box was handed to me by a very strong German garbage man, and not knowing its weight, I gleefully accepted with open arms, and an injured spine.

If you know anyone willing to give me their healthy spine, please reach out.

Today we pull apart this eMac, save for the CRT (because F high voltage, no time for that) and clean it up, replace the thermal paste, then install a brand new OS (cough, Tiger).

This is a cool machine if you aren't familiar with eMacs, as it is the alt-voweled cousin to the iMac.
