However, do some new special scenes reveal what might have happened next for them? Here’s everything you need to know.  Trending   Since coming to an end last month on the BBC, fans of Normal People have been wondering whether the show would return for season two. However, the cast and the crew have been honest about how it does not really seem to be on the cards. But it has now been revealed how this won’t be the last time viewers see these characters on screen. Both Mescal and Edgar-Jones will be reprising their roles in two RTÉ Does Comic Relief specials.   READ MORE Daisy Edgar-Jones: Normal People star gets 'talk of doom' from dad  These will look at what happened to the beloved characters after the show came to an end in the charity special. Comic Relief co-founder Richard Curtis revealed all in a recent interview on RTÉ Radio 1. He said: "There's a beautiful piece called Normal Older People, which is imagining what would have happened to Marianne and Connell 40 years from now. "I promise you, these are two very special bits. It's so much better than anything we've ever made.   “I mean I can't even say all about it because there's a guest star in it. But it's really, it's really beautiful. "One of the things about Comic Relief is it just gives opportunities for things to happen that would never happen. “I can't imagine any context in which they would have allowed this little sort of extra special into the world of Normal People."      Given Curtis’ high praise for the special scenes, viewers will be excited to see what they might reveal about Marianne and Connell’s future. Fans will certainly hope they might give an insight into whether the characters reconciled after Connell moved to New York. This is especially exciting as earlier this year, the creators of the show told The Hollywood Reporter it would not be back for season two. Executive producer Ed Guiney told the publication: "We're not thinking about a second season at the moment.
