Another hearing in the Congressional probe into the LIV Golf and PGA TOUR was held by the investigations subcommittee headed by Senator Richard Blumenthal. The intent of the investigation is to get to the bottom of the Saudi funding that is pouring in from the PIF. The investigation was first launched by this same committee a few months ago when the deal between LIV and the PGA TOUR was first announced. Now the committee is looking to subpoena the PIF’s U.S.-based subsidiary, USSA International “for documents related to PIF’s takeover of American golf and other investments throughout the United States.” Heads of the PIF, LIV Golf, and the PGA TOUR have also been called to testify as US Government pressure intensifies on the potential merger between the PGA TOUR, LIV Golf, and the DP World Tour.
