Install the Intake Manifold Base - 305 Chevy Tuned Port Injection - IROC-Z Barn Find EP#32 |
![]() |
I review my progress on completing the installation of the Tuned Port 305 Chevy engine into my 3rd Gen Camaro and explain my plans for completing reassembly. I show how to install the Tuned port intake manifold base in detail. These Tuned Port Injection 305 Chevy engines are much more complex to assemble than a carbureted engine and the 3rd Gen Camaro has a tightly packaged engine compartment. If you don't follow the right sequence, it can be even more difficult.
Background: This is a "Barn find" 1985 IROC-Z Z28 Camaro with Tuned Port (TPI) LB9 engine that has been parked for 25 years. The original owner passed away and his father sold the car to me. What will be required to make this car run again after being parked for so long? It has just over 101,000 miles, all the parts are there, and it seems to be in good condition, except for the engine and fuel system. This project intends to make this car run again and put it back on the road. If you like these videos, please subscribe so you can follow the ongoing work. The car may be running, but there is much more to do. DISCLAIMER: In my videos, I provide demonstrations, suggestions, and opinions on techniques, methods, and materials for various projects.
