6. Spanish Galleons
A Spanish Galleon is said to have crashed off the coast of key West Florida during a massive hurricane in 1622. Many believe that there was 700 million dollars worth of gold, emeralds, jewels and priceless historical artifacts on board. The Spanish amassed a huge fortune from plundering resources in the Americas so it’s really not too farfetched to believe that there are at least a few sunken galleons that we haven’t discovered yet. In 1985 the galleon was actually discovered and remarkable treasures were uncovered. Before the eventual discovery, many had completely thought Mel Fisher was nuts, but worked with him anyways. But was this spanish ship sailing by itself with all that treasure? It most likely had at least a few escorts. Anyways Spanish sunken Spanish galleons are still out there and who knows where you’ll discover a new one!

4. Captain Kidd’s Hidden Treasure
Captain Kidd was a notorious pirate who sailed the seven seas looting valuable cargo ships. He was originally working for the British to hunt down pirate ships, but found the life of a plundering booty to be too difficult to resist and he’d become a pirate himself. Many legends and tales tell about what an efficient pirate he was and how he was able to take down massive vessels with his crew. But there’s also one legend that sticks out, especially to treasure hunter! There’s rumored to be a massive stash of his treasure that was left behind in the Indian ocean, on madagascar after his crew began to get sick from cholera. He was supposed to come back and get it when his crew was back to full strength once again. However, William Kidd recieved capital punishment and would never get the chance. The treasure has yet to be found but a huge hoax emerged when someone claiming they found a silver ingot presented their finding to the president of madagascar and it turned out it was just lead that we see in this photo of it captured underground.

3. Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Finding one of the lost ancient wonders of the world would certainly be an enormous discovery for archaeologists and there are many signs that would suggest that this place isn’t just created from legends. There is much mystery about this structure and they have yet to unearth the towering gardens covered in flora from all over the known world in the 6th century BC. A well respected author Dr. Stephanie Dalley, is suggesting that historians have been looking in the wrong place the entire time and the hanging gardens weren’t built in Babylon and believes it was actually in the Assyrian capital of Nineveh. In this city they have found extensive aqueduct systems in this city capable of supplying enough water to a massive garden complete. Should it really be called the hanging gardens of Nineveh? Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

2. The Tomb of Nefertiti
One discovery that archaeologists really need to make is of the tomb of the Queen Nefertiti. She was one of the most beautiful Egyptian queens of all time and displayed in amazing detail in statues. She was also the queen of Akhenaten and the mother of King Tut. she was married to one of Egypt’s most bizarre pharaohs of all time who’s often portrayed as looking like some kind of alien creature from another planet. Akhenaten had changed the capital city of Egypt from Thebes to Amarna, dedicated to monotheistic religion, and one god of Aten, or the sun disc. Anyways, finding out more about nefertiti would possibly help us understand why her husband made such a drastic change and also, if Nefertiti was if she was powerful enough to take the role as a pharaoh for four years, since King Tut was quite young at the time after the death of Akhenaten. Oh yeah, and they would probably find lots of gold too! They’ve already found king tut’s tomb, so it’s a good start!

1. The Holy Grail
Discovering the Holy Grail would be like the holy grail of all discoveries! Another religious artifact, it’s said to be the cup that Jesus drank from during the last supper and had received blood that was flowing from jesus after he got stabbed by a roman with a spear. So it’s a pretty important artifact that is possibly the most sought after treasure waiting to be discovered! Some claim that the blessed cup has magical powers to whoever is able to find it. Some believe that tracing mary magdalene bloodline could be key in finding this relic.
