NBA 2019 Playoffs First Round Game 4 Milwaukee Bucks vs Detroit Pistons (Apr 22, 2019)

We are all waiting for that one really huge game from Giannis, given that the Pistons might somehow become really competitive and hungry at one point. The Pistons were showing signs the whole first half, looking like the better team in the Little Caesars Arena.

Bringing home the first playoffs series victory since 2001 and become the man to score 40+ since Michael Redd (anyone even remember this lefty dude?) in 2006. It took a bit of Giannis talent, some Bucks team plays, some Pistons fatigue and maybe some help from the referees. I’m not here to say the referee didn’t sort of help us through the comeback. As a small market team, never do I really feel any help or getting any benefits of doubt from the referees.

Pistons fans are pissed about the way things were called in the 3rd quarter, there were lots of minimal contacts they called on the Pistons and some physical plays allowed to be play-on for the Bucks. I didn’t fact-check myself by rolling back to all the foul calls they made during the game; I would agree that the officiating might be a bit Bucks-skewed at some point.

Yet, the blocks, dunks and hanging lay-ups are not to be denied by any officiating. Giannis is just an amazing human being. DON’T LET HIM GET A JUMPER. Well, he made quite a few of them already in the series. Take notes, Boston. This is an improved version of Giannis from last year’s playoffs. The Greek God, is coming for you.
