Entrepreneurship, Technology, and the Environment | Soren Shapiro | TEDxYouth@BPCS

video thumbnail
As important as voting and protesting are, thinking that we can rely on governments alone to save the environment would be a mistake. Profit-seeking might be to blame for many environmental issues, but companies developing new technologies also have an important and positive role to play.

Recorded live on May 1st, 2020, in Brooklyn, NY, USA. Soren Shapiro is a senior at Brooklyn Prospect Charter School. While she remains undecided about her college choice, she plans to study linguistics and anthropology in the future. She is a native New Yorker, and as one of the leaders of the Environmental Club, she is passionate about environmental justice and climate action. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
