Heavy downpours have caused flash floods and major traffic jams in some parts of Singapore on Friday morning (20 Aug).
Videos circulating on social media show the water level dangerously reaching nearly 1m at the junction of Pasir Ris Drive 12 and Tampines Avenue 10. Many vehicles can be seen trapped in the flash flood. In a Facebook post earlier today, PUB warned that water levels in drains and canals have reached 90 per cent in certain areas due to heavy rain. Noting that many areas were at risk of flash floods, it advised members of the public to avoid those areas for the next one hour. |
