Language and Social Control | Jennifer Thomas | TEDxDecaturPublicLibrary

video thumbnail
Humans are a sophisticated species, but we still look to nature for inspiration. Should we be more like predators - lions, who protect their tribe? Or, should we imitate bees - working towards a common goal? Jennifer Thomas is a Decatur native with twenty years of teaching experience. Her career has included technical writing and online education pioneering. A wife, mother, and St. Paul's member, Jennifer has attended ISU and UIS where she studied English, specifically linguistics and literature. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
