Ancient Giza: A Pre-Dynastic Egyptian Settlement | Ancient Architects

video thumbnail
In my last video I put forward a new hypothesis that this strange character found on the famous Narmer Palette is in fact the oldest portrayal of The Sphinx in history, which, at the time when Narmer unified Upper and Lower Egypt around 3,100 BC, was likely to be the most important monument in Lower Egypt, hence it’s inclusion on the palette.

But there is more to pre-dynastic Giza than just the Sphinx, with pyramids occupying the sites where the pyramids were built, ancient temples and a causeway that may be as old as The Sphinx.

The history of Giza is different to we ever imagined.
