National Hurricane Center: Lingering Flooding From Ian Could Make Response In Florida Difficult |

Interim National Hurricane Center director Jamie Rhome said most time after a disaster first responders would be deployed immediately but due to "the slow motion" of Hurricane Ian it could take days to "pull away from the Florida peninsula." Rhome added that the "lingering flooding" left behind could make the response and recovery "really, really difficult."
