Here is my basic logo design process, after reviewing or going through the client's brief that I have received about the brand and logo to be designed. The next steps are:

1. Research: This involves researching on the current trends about the logo, here I spend time on Pinterest, Behance and even Instagram. The research will cover what I intend to create for the brand and what kind of designs already exists in the same industry. I will also create a moodboard of the kind of elements, fonts, colours and feeling I want to showcase in the logo and it’s brand identity. Sometimes I make a wordmap too. For every brand, there are certain words related to it. This can be connected via the name of the brand or the message and feeling they want to convey. This helps with what I create in the next step.

2. Sketching: This is my favorite part of the whole process and also where I spend most of my time for most logo designs. Here I sketch a bunch of ideas, try out different patterns, fonts, icons and so on till I’ve come up with one that I find suitable.

3. Vectorizing: Now I can sit on my desk, open adobe illustrator and turn the sketches into vectors. If the sketch is well executed, then my time here is limited.

4. Presentation: Here I create a brand presentation for my clients, showcasing the finished logo options and waiting their reviews.
