Efrem Korngold, LAc,OMD and Harriet Beinfield, LAc became two of the first non-Asian acupuncturists in North America in 1973.  Chinese Medicine Works is their San Francisco acupuncture clinic where they continue to welcome and care for patients.  They are the authors of the best-selling book Between Heaven and Earth: A Guide to Chinese Medicine.  They are also the formulators of Chinese herbal formulas distributed by Kan Herb Company to health care providers in the USA and Europe.  As messengers of Chinese medicine in the West, they have taught nationally and internationally, and their book has been translated into eight foreign languages.
