About the book club in brief: I read ‘Feminism is For Everyone’ by Bell Hooks in July of 2020. In the book I was introduced to the concept of ‘Conciousness Raising’ which was a concept that came to light during the feminist movement in the late 60s in the US. Feminists would get together in meetings and certain topics (feminism mostly in their case) were discussed. The idea was to create a safe place to educate each other and also remove internal biases.

I wanted to take this idea and create a safe space for people to discuss various topics with the help of a book club. :))
