1. My First 10k

-When I was about 18 years old I got a job, at my college and I also got a job at the gap

-I would spend every single dollar I made on liabilities, and then life taught me a valuable lesson

-I didn’t realize those jobs were temporary, so when December passed Gap let me go as seasonal employee and my other school job also let me go


Here what I happened:

-At the time my net worth was negative 15k, I owed 13k in student loans and about 2k in credit card debt from a laptop I bought ( yes it was a mac )

-I borrowed 5k from my college, and I turned that into an income of about $60 a week, and my mom gave me $10 a day to go to school

-In my entire life I was never more embarrassed but to everyone school I looked like I had money ( my closet was filled, and pocket were empty )


2. The Secrets of a Millionaire Mind

-I took that time being broke, to get into some side hustles, like flipping phones, and selling all the sneakers I had and I manage to make a little money per week

-Now when the time came back around for me to work again, I wanted things to be different and I didn’t want to spend it all again on trash

-So by coincidence, my professor in excel taught us and gave us a project on investing into stocks and also reading books ( the first self help book I read was the secrets of a millionaire mind )


From then on:

-I realized that money was a tool, and my ignorance was something I could fix by learning and the only way for me to get what I wanted in life was deserve it

-So after 200 more books and years later, I’m here to account for 500k that I made and I spend

-I’ve made more but this number seems fitting until we get to the goal of 1M



3. $500k: here is where the money went



First this House you guys see here:

-Cost me about 130k and I put into it 60k ( from that 60k about 12k were surprise expenses ) but this saves $14,400 a year on housing

-I’ve invested the equivalent of $228k in a taxable account and and 44k in retirement account for a total of about 272k ( the market is down heavely right now, but I’m still positive but this gives me a return on invested capital of about $29,920 a year )

-I funded my emergency account with $15k to take care of my expenses for the next 12months on my baseline budget

-I bought a little car for $9k

-Now the missing 16k went towards charity, random expenses and so on



Here is valuable lesson that I learned:

-Spend your money creating for yourself security

-I would always pay off debt first, save for emergencies, then invest and then finally worry about the house

-Major mistakes I made, not investing earlier, to much money into a house, buying expensive things I didn’t need


4. Here is my prediction

-80% of people will watch this video and say wow

-And 20% will watch and say wow, I cant make that 500k

-In lifetime, the average person makes about 1.7M from 42k a year
