One Ukraine Leopard tank wins battle against two Russian tanks and forces enemy to retreat |
|
A Ukrainian Leopard tank won a battle with two Russian tanks in the south. Drone footage captured the rare shooting match near Robotyne, in June. It shows a German-made Leopard firing its main gun at the Russian tanks. Despite shooting almost 3km, the Leopard manages to score one direct hit. The Russian tank is damaged but not destroyed, and retreats from battle. A second Russian tank follows it off the battlefield, fearing another hit. Though Russia and Ukraine both have large tank armies, direct clashes are rare. The vehicles are so valuable to both sides that they rarely engage one-another. Instead they are mostly used to support infantry attacks and as artillery. Seeing a Western-supplied tank take on the Russians is ever more extraordinary.
