How are the simple ways and powerful words of the new pope impacting American public life? The inaugural dialogue of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life examined this question.

The PBS NewsHour team of Mark Shields and David Brooks, along with Kim Daniels and Alexia Kelley, discussed how Pope Francis' new leadership is impacting the public square. Initiative Director John Carr moderated the discussion. Cardinal Donald Wuerl and Georgetown President John J. DeGioia provided opening remarks.
