As a little girl, I always hoped one day my mom and I would be able to get past the past and love one another like a daughter and mother should. My mother was an adult child of two alcoholic parents and never understood how her childhood had wounded her. When my mother died, so did many of the hopes I held of ever being able to heal our relationship. This video was taken shortly after her death, and in it I share some of the things our family needed to navigate in order to get through letting go of my codependent mom.
