The counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim began at 6 am on Sunday. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is leading 18 of 50 seats in Arunachal Pradesh after it won 10 seats unopposed in the state. There are 60 assembly constituencies in the northeastern state. The National People's Party (NPEP) is leading in five seats, Congress in one seat and others in six seats.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will have to return to Tihar Jail On June 2 as the court on Saturday reserved the order on his interim bail plea for June 5 in connection with his arrest in an alleged money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped liquor policy case.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has moved the court seeking interim bail for a week on medical grounds. The Chief Minister's counsel told the court that Arvind Kejriwal is ill and needs treatment. However, his application was opposed by the Enforcement Directorate, which claimed that the AAP boss has suppressed facts and made false statements, including about his health.
