Greg Hardy Cut By UFC |
|
After his 3rd straight loss, Greg Hardy is no longer with the UFC.
Hardy kicked off his UFC career in January 2019 with a DQ loss, and after that he had 4 wins, 4 losses, and a no contest. So a total of 10 fights. Considering he was basically an MMA rookie fighting in the UFC, he did pretty well. The fact that he got 4 wins in the UFC is impressive because the NFL is not the best base for MMA, but he still picked up 4 wins and he might have picked up a couple more if he didn't knee an opponent in the face, causing a DQ, and use an inhaler in between rounds, which led to a no contest. As far as his losses, obviously he was going to lose to the competition he faced, he was taking on some tough ranked competition in the 2nd half of his UFC stint, guy like Tuivasa who's ranked #3, Volkov, who's ranked #6, Tybura who's #9, and Spivac who's #15. So I give Hardy credit for 1) taking on some tough ranked competition. And 2, he fought very often to start his UFC career. He fought 5 times in under 10 months and that last fight was vs Alexander Volkov, so in under 10 months into his UFC career he was fighting a guy who's ranked #6. If Hardy wants to continue fighting, leagues like Bellator and Eagle FC would sign him. And it could be interesting seeing him throw down in bare knuckle boxing in BKFC. |
