This coming week is a big one for the Duke of York in the long-running saga of his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Tomorrow, a past settlement between Epstein and Virginia Roberts Giuffre will be made public. Ms Giuffre, who claims to have been a sex trafficking victim of Epstein, is suing Andrew for sexual assault in a civil lawsuit in the US. It is said he will not appear with his mother and senior royals such as his brother Charles or nephew William on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for an RAF flypast. Andrew, 61, will be kept away from all events next summer, it is claimed. The depositions must be completed on or before July 14, district judge Lewis Kaplan, who serves in the Southern District of New York, said. The Queenâs Platinum Jubilee celebrations will take place in June, potentially setting up a clash with Andrewâs legal issues over the summer. A source told the Sun that Andrew will be pulled from all of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The source added: âThe plan is for him to be invisible during celebrations.â However, Andrew has categorically denied the accusation. His lawyers have also claimed that Ms Giuffre previously accepted a settlement with Epstein in which one of the conditions was she could not pursue a case against any of Epsteinâs associates. The sealed settlement Ms Giuffre made with the late financier in 2009 will be released tomorrow following an order by US judges. Then, on Tuesday, January 4, Judge Lewis Kaplan will sit to decide whether to take the case to trial. It is widely believed he will decide to take this to trial, as the judge previously said he wants to see one happen later in 2022. Pod Save the Queen is hosted by Zoe Forsey and features Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers. Mr Myers noted that there will be ânervousnessâ in the Palace that Andrewâs trial could overshadow the Queenâs Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Her Majesty is celebrating 70 years on the throne this year with a four-day weekend in June featuring street parties, a huge concert at Buckingham Palace and a Jubilee Pageant. #TheQueen #Harry #Meghan #Charles #William #Kate #George #Camilla #Diana #Anne #KittySpencer |
