Rick's Signature Drum Set Sticks |
|
In this video I talk about the creation of my Vic Firth Signature stick that I have been using for the last 30 years.
I designed these sticks around 30 years ago after my search for the perfect set stick continued to fail. The sticks have great articulation, balance and a nice solid weight to them. In my opinion it is a great all-round stick, and it especially shines in the jazz arena when playing on thin hand hammered cymbals such as old k's, Bosphorus, Istanbul, Dream, Sabian Vault and Paiste Traditionals. For the first time I am making this stick available to the general public. They are available in maple (50 to 55 grams) and hickory (heavier at 60 to 65 grams). You can purchase them from me at rickdior@gmail.com The cymbals I am using in this video are: A 1940's 21" K Zildjian A 1950's 22" A Zildjian A 2021 24" Bosphorus flat ride A set of Sabian 13"HH Regular Hi Hats The drum set used in this video is a Craviotto Private Reserve steam bent kit 14"x 6.5" Snare 10"x 8" tom 12"x 8 " tom 14"x 14" Floor Tom 20"x 15" Bass Drum The Microphones are a stereo pair of Sennheiser MKH 800's about 3.5 feet above the kit and an AKG D112 Bass Drum mic. |
