On the sidelines of the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Journalists and Writers Foundation, in collaboration with its Global Partners, is hosting a virtual event on the "Impact of Climate Change on Vulnerable Communities" on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM EST. This virtual event aims to illuminate the disproportionate impact of climate change on vulnerable communities, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals #13 (Climate Action) and #10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Through insightful discussions and expert perspectives, our panelists and youth advocates will explore four focused themes: • Exploring Climate Change-Induced Inequalities: Raising awareness of vulnerable communities' struggles and disproportionate access to fundamental rights and opportunities • Empowering Vulnerable Communities and Youth: Navigating climate change challenges through education, awareness, and advocacy • Catalyzing Global Change: Empowering vulnerable communities through Inclusive strategies and sustainable solutions • Policy Development and Implementation: Integrating climate change adaptation through inclusive policies, sustainable development, and community empowerment |
