The Political Divide: Nationalism v Globalism | Amber Khlat | TEDxFrancisHollandSchoolSloaneSquare |

Will international order be reshaped by the COVID-19 crisis and countries strive for global unity? Or will they shelter away in an isolationist approach? The old way that people thought about the political divide between left and right has largely blown up and a new reality has emerged. I will describe the current political divide: nationalism v globalism, examine its underlying causes and offer some ideas that will help forge a new middle way between the two competing strategies to move forward into a more equitable and balanced system. Amber is a student at Francis Holland School in London, with plans to work in the fields of human rights or refuge aid/development with an eye for working at the United Nations. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
