Mild hyperthyroidism Older age with limited life expectancy Preparation for radioactive iodine or thyroidectomy Pregnancy (PTU in 1st trimester) Radioactive iodine: Moderate to severe hyperthyroidism with/without mild ophthalmopathy Patient preference in mild hyperthyroidism . . Thyroidectomy: Very large goiter .
