Diagnosis 2.0: Re-processing your diagnosis as an adult |
|
When a child receives a connective tissue condition diagnosis, the depth and complexity of that diagnosis mostly falls to the childβs caregivers. Most children cannot yet fully grasp the full meaning of their diagnosis and living with the condition is simply a normal part of their life.
This webinar looks at typical markers of the transition to adulthood with a chronic condition and what re-processing can look like. We also hear how young adults in the Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, and VEDS communities have experienced it themselves. Panelists: Brona Hagins, Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student, Midwestern University Courtney Jensen, MS, CGC, Duke University and Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Kristi Posival, VEDS Elijah Williams, Marfan Syndrome (@publicenemy1__) |
