'Roop Tera Mastana' simply wont grow old! this timeless crazy romantic number appeared in Shakti Samant's Aradhana (1969) with lead roles played by Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. The special tit bit about this song is that the entire song was done in just one take, something which was highly unusual for its time . The song is pivotal to the success of the film and also went a long way in taking Kishore Da to the top of the charts. Rajesh Khanna too, became a superstar because of Aradhana. The genre of music is Blues. S D Burman is the music director and Kersi Lord the arranger. The superb saxophone parts have been played by Manohari Singh. The classic interplay between the accordion and the saxophone provides a delightful experience throughout the song and is suggestive of a flirtatious fling as is depicted in the song through the expressions of desire between Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore.
In my version of this classic ive tried to re do the song with a contemporary feel, while keeping the essence of the original composition intact. Ive tried to make a Reggaeton Beat and used some electronic elements in the production. I use Chateau Saxophones and a Cort hybrid Guitar. I produce music using Logic Pro X and Ableton Live. The video was taken on a Samsung mobile. #RoopTeraMastana #KishoreKumar #SDBurman |
