Regenerative Women on the Land: Why Are Women Leading with the Land? |
|
Oxford Real Farming Conference 2022 discussion with Clem Sandison, Marina O'Connell, Sandra Salazar, Mandy Barber, Emilia Jane, Ruth Hancock, Bella Thompson
Since 2008 there has been more than a 10% increase in female farmers in the UK, and in 2021 the 'Regenerative Women on the Land’ group began inviting female land workers to meet to connect with and support each other through sharing stories and experiences. All land workers move with the cycles of the land and seasons, and women have a unique relationship with this cyclical nature. As we strive for regenerative and diverse farming methods, womb- centred knowledge plays a vital role for the future of farming - working with the cycles of the land, rather than against them. How can we integrate this sacred women’s knowledge into our farms? We invite four women to share their stories of being on the land as cyclical- humans, and how we can celebrate this and remove obstacles to welcome more women to work the land. #ORFC22 https://orfc.org.uk/ |
