This is an iconic scene that sets the stage for the sci-fi epic that is Frank Herbert's Dune. Paul's reliance on the Litany Against Fear to maintain focus gives us insight into his strength of character. In this video, I talk about the Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear, how Paul Atreides uses it to pass the Gom Jabbar test, as well as the purpose the test serves for the secretive Society of the Bene Gesserit.
