You may have heard about the Vancouver Police Department's arrest of Charlotte Kates of Samidoun, and the attempt to frame support for the Palestinian resistance as "hate." This is taking place as police across the United States have engaged in violent attacks on student encampments struggling to end the genocide in Gaza, arresting thousands of students. While the right of people under occupation and colonialism to resist is affirmed in international law, Palestinian and Lebanese resistance organizations are labeled as "terrorists" by the Canadian government as well as the US and European states. Meanwhile, thousands of Palestinians are held in Israeli jails, struggling for freedom.
