A history of the River Aire |
|
A talk to Kirkstall Abbey's 1152 history club by our Coumminty Engagement Assistant, Abby Carroll.
Discover the history of the river. How we lost our salmon and how we are enabling them enabling them to return. Developing teh Natural Aire is a joint project between the Aire Rivers Trust and the Environment Agency. This project will reconnect 60km of the river to enable fish to breed, feed and shelter. We want to work with local communities to celebrate and embrace our fantastic river. This project is funded by the Environment Agency, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Craven Council and Yorkshire Water. Find out more at www.dnaire.org.uk |
