We know that exercise can improve mental health. Will it cure the most serious cases of mental illness, probably not but itβs still valuable even in those situations. Lifestyle modification combined with psychotherapy or medication management work synergistically.
When we are required to do physical activity in the context of a job it does not seem to provide the same mental health benefit as when we engage in a hobby or activity for pleasure.
