Live Love originated in Beirut in 2012 to show the world the real side of Lebanon, through the eyes of its people. The hashtag organically evolved into a movement sharing pure life, humanity, nature, food, and what makes us human all the same, no matter where we live. Through a bracelet and photography, Live Love bridges differences and cultural gaps by shedding a different light unto parts of the world we don't truly know. Live Love is now working its magic in other parts of the world like Live Love Syria, Live Love Armenia, and Live Love Brazil.
One of the 2 founders and the designer of Live Love Beirut, a social media campaign that started 2 years ago with a hashtag to share the Beauty of Lebanon accompanied by a bracelet to fundraise and make local, grassroots projects come to life. Today, it counts 4.1 million likes on Instagram, 150,000 images, bracelets sold in 42 countries, and 21 Live Love accounts creating communities of Love and hope for major cities and universities in Lebanon. In 2014, it got adopted by the Ministry of Tourism and Live Love Lebanon became the official campaign of the nation. The Live Love movement is now picking up in countries such as Jordan, Egypt and Venezuela. From Beirut, to the world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
