1952 - A young man, Walter Bliss, revered as the children's book writer of his day goes to war leaving his two daughters and wife behind. While on the front lines he receives a tragic letter that his wife and one daughter were killed in a car accident just as the earth erupts around him in what is to be one of the bloodiest battles of the Korean War.

Lost in the horror of war and reeling from his own agony he loses his senses regressing to the place he knows the best, world of a child.

Now in his 70's, children flock to Walter to hear him read his stories. He is an old man with the mind and spirit of a 12 year old. As a job, Walter reads to children at the hospital. Susan, his surviving daughter now in her 40's, is a bitter and lost soul. Susan has carried the burden and pain of never having a family and having to raise a shell shocked father. Always hanging on to the hope she would someday see her father again that hope now has faded away. Susan has made the decision to put Walter in a home and move on with her life.

Before this can happen she is forced through tragedy to experience a miracle and her life will change forever.

This film is about hope, unconditional love and forgiveness. This film is dedicated to war veterans and children with cancer.
