Bharathi Prathap is coming to the UK to perform khayal vocal in the Darbar Festival at the Barbican Centre in London – she is making her UK debut performance, this is one event you will not want to miss! Her voice floats effortlessly as she presents a combination of dhrupad and khayal vocal styles to maximise the depth and emotional maturity that culminates into a profound listening experience.

Sabir Sultan Khan and Aneesh Pradhan provide accompaniment to some of the most skillful vocalists of India – they will be supporting Prathap in this concert.

In addition to this, you will be glad to know that this evening is part of a double bill concert. The first half of this double bill features Rajrupa Chowdhury on sarod and Yashwant Vaishnav on tabla.

You will experience the sound of the sarod pulling on your heart strings. Chowdhury explores the depth of ragas as trained and gifted by her teachers Siddhartha Roy Chowdhury, Pandit Ajay Sinha Roy and Prof. Sanjoy Bandopadhyay. She captivates audiences with her intense raga emotions and spirited presence.
