On September 29th, the City of Corona hosted "Community Conversations: Celebrating Corona's Hispanic Roots."
The event highlighted our Hispanic community's triumphs, challenges, and rich cultural heritage. We celebrated Hispanic leaders who are shaping Corona's history today. 🎙 Moderator/Panelists included: • David Felix, Former City Council Member and First Hispanic Mayor of Corona • Adalberto Navarro, Marine Veteran and Commander of American Legion Post 216 • Denisse Olguin, Program Director of Corona-Norco United Way • Mary Helen Ybarra, Corona Norco Unified School District Board of Education Trustee Area 3 • Dr. Rosibel Ochoa, Associate Vice Chancellor at UC Riverside 🍴 Community Members also enjoyed a taste of Hispanic Culture from: Pampa Empanadas Taqueria Oaxaca El Chivazo Salvadorian 🎶 Performances were led by: Alfredo Rolando Ortiz Baile Folklorico Herencia Mariachi Academy The event was a huge success and fostered cultural pride throughout the community.
