Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers questions from off of his Guitar Blog website...

Q). I was hoping that you could tell me what software you use to generate fret board diagrams for your many videos. What I'm most curious about, is the layout of the guitar's fingerboard on a horizontal axis with the overlay of dots. If indeed you made them yourself, and you use Adobe Photoshop to input dots, would you mind explaining further?
Jimmy -- San Francisco, California USA

A). To create those fingerboard layouts I use in my videos and my PDF handouts, I use Adobe Photoshop. In the screen capture here I run through the process of importing a PDF of fingerboard diagram paper and then crop out a single fretboard. Then using both text layer and the Photoshop brush tool, I show how to create fingerboard diagrams.

As always, Thanks for writing in!
